Mengo Celebrates 125 years

So much has happened since Mengo Hospital started in 1897 and you can find out more about the history on our website.

2022 marks 125 years of Mengo Hospital’s being the Pioneer of Modern Medicine in Uganda and East Africa at large. we will be celebrating this milestone with a series of events organised by our Friends and Fundraising Committees. The Hospital Management will be preparing an exhibition displaying the history of the Hospital which can be viewed at one of our Open Days in February 2022.

Our Sesquicentennial Celebration events will be a blend of social, celebratory, and fundraising. We have set ourselves the target of raising the remaining UGX 10Billion ($2.7 Million) needed to Complete the Newly Proposed Outpatients block and Equip the Accident and Emergency unit that will be apart of the block. that.
