Getting to Mengo

The hospital has parking areas however Parking in the area is limited, so  If you are considering cycling or driving  to Mengo  please see our parking section to find out where to park your vehicle or any other means of transport used to access the hospital. Our parking lot is monitored by an outsourced service provider, parking at Mengo Hospital is at owner’s risk.

Public transport

Mengo Hospital is well served by the Uganda bus and taxi network. We recommend you use public transport to get to the hospital whenever possible because there is limited parking locally.

To plan your journey, call Mengo Hospital Customer Service.

Mengo Hospital has an added advantage of having a taxi rank outside the main entrance.

Short-term parking

There are a small number of short-term parking spaces where you can drop off and collect patients outside the different wings.

Car parking charges

Parking is charged per hour or part hour, cash only. We urge you to pay before you leave the premises. There is a payment machine in the car park, and cash can be given at the main entrance.

Why we charge for car parking

The car park at Mengo Hospital does not make a profit. All money goes straight back into maintaining and improving parking and access to our hospital campus. We believe Mengo Hospital incomes are spent on sustainability of the Hospital.

Car park access

The approach to the car park is made via the Nursing School lane., then right into  the various directions of  the hospital campus. Times of the day you may have to queue to enter the car park and wait until a space is free. Mengo Hospital has a developed master plan to sort this to the convenience of its clients.
