Practical training is also provided through a placement scheme, where students and personnel involved health care can come to work at the Centre for an agreed duration so as to gain first-hand experience of dealing with various health conditions. Participants on the placement scheme come from Uganda and the surrounding region, as well as Europe, Asia and, Canada, Germany and the USA. The students are supervised by the Heads of departments of the different disciplines.
Administration and support functions exist at the Centre merely to help achieve the Centre’s two core objectives, namely care and training. Such support functions – financial accounting, IT, human resources, quality assurance, public relations, transport, site management etc – are all in place and are handled professionally.
