The Department of Endocrinology and Non-Communicable Diseases (NCDs) is one of Mengo Hospital’s newest and most forward-looking departments. Established to respond to the growing burden of chronic illnesses, the department is solely dedicated to the diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of conditions such as diabetes, hypertension, thyroid disorders, obesity, and cardiovascular diseases.
The department is staffed by a team of skilled and committed specialists who deliver expert, compassionate care to every patient.
Beyond clinical services, health education and lifestyle modification are central to the department’s mission. Through patient engagement, community awareness, and preventative care strategies, the department empowers individuals and families to manage and reduce the risk of NCDs.
As a center of excellence in chronic disease management, the department works closely with other units in the hospital to ensure holistic, multidisciplinary care, keeping Mengo Hospital at the forefront of integrated healthcare delivery.

- Training and advocacy –We train health workers, fellows and medical students.
- Research and Career Growth and Development- We conduct Endocrine and Non –Communicable Diseases’ research and data collection.
